Algoma University prides itself on quality student-faculty interactions, undergraduate research opportunities and high-impact experiential learning. The school also offers a variety of student clubs that encourage students to network, socialize, and learn. Whether it’s the Algoma University Business Society or another student club, there’s something for everyone. Students can sign up for social clubs throughout the year or start their own.

With a special mission to cultivate cross-cultural learning, Algoma University is recognized as a leader in Anishinaabe education in Canada.

2. Experiential learning

With the job market constantly evolving, opportunities to obtain real-life learning experiences are becoming increasingly important for students as they prepare for their future careers. Algoma University’s School of Business & Economics supports students personal and professional growth through a range of experiential learning opportunities. Students build well-rounded, transferable skill sets through participation in co-operative education, internship placements, and other innovative programming such as the Northern Ontario Business Case competition.

The School of Business & Economics welcomes students from across the globe, reflecting the mosaic of cultures for which Canada is so well known. With the School’s unique North-South link, students who enroll in our programing have the opportunity to study at two locations:

  • Sault Ste. Marie: a campus offering a distinctive ‘Northern Ontario’ experience in the heart of the Great Lakes.
  • Brampton: a downtown campus providing students with an urban experience located in the heart of one of Canada’s fastest-growing cities.

Both campuses offer the benefit of small class sizes and one-on-one interactions with knowledgeable and caring faculty. The campuses offer Fall, Winter and Spring intakes.

4. Future-focused education

Algoma University’s School of Business & Economics provides quality academic program offerings in the following fields:

  • Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
  • Including specializations in Accounting, Human Resources, Marketing and Economics
  • Bachelor of Arts in Finance and Economics
  • Bachelor of Arts in Economics
  • Bachelor of Arts in Accounting

Algoma University also works collaboratively with industry leaders to design and provide upgrading and corporate training opportunities. Recognizing the ever-changing needs of students and the labour market, the School of Business will be expanding on current College Partnerships and Pathway Programs. A successful Post-Graduate Certificate in Business Administration has been implemented and can be completed in as little as one year.
